Training Programs at Bennett Farms
Benefits
Participating in a training program is a great way to promote your horse's daily healthy activity and improvement. As it is with humans, daily exercise is the best way to build muscle and discourage the formation of bad habits in horses. Working with a schedule that varies daily encourages your horse to remain interested and learn by understanding rather than by habit. Trainers will have frequent opportunities to asses your horse, ensure healthy progress is being made, and identify any issues that might be difficult to spot in a stall. This program is an excellent energy outlet for younger horses to learn their gaits, and older horses benefit from staying sharp and limber.
What We Do
Horses are worked six days a week, with a training schedule that is tailored to each horse's needs. The schedule varies daily and includes different exercises to achieve different results. Our basic services include training horses to walk, trot, and canter under the saddle and/or long lines. Training horses to jog in a cart is supplemented into the training program as needed, and can be used as a form of light training, recovery, and limbering up after harder scheduled days. Cross training on the surrounding trails can be used as an exercise used to build and strengthen your horse's muscles.
Program Fees
The full training program includes six scheduled days per week, one rest day, and all training equipment including, but not limited to, long lines, carts and harnesses, and bridles. Give us a call today to discuss your goals for your horse and to learn what more we can do for you!
