Bennett Farms offers private horseback riding lessons in Saddle Seat and Western riding seats for riders of all ages and experience levels. Our thirty minute lessons are conducted on an individual basis so that each rider receives instruction specific to their level and needs.  From lunge lessons for beginner balance practice to pattern drills for competitions, let us know today what you're hoping to get from your lesson!  Lessons available for clients 3 years old and above.

Details:  Lessons are 30 minutes long, and are taught either in the barn aisle or large outdoor ring, depending on conditions and student comfort.  As lessons may be outdoors, please be prepared for sun exposure and warm or cool weather exposure.  We recommend students wear long pants and closed toed shoes or boots (with minimal tread) for comfort and safety.  Riding pants and boots preferable.  Equestrian specific helmets are recommended, Bennett Farms can provide upon request if you do not have your own.  For first time lessons, all clients or client guardians must fill out the Bennett Farms safety release form (available here and at the Barn). Accepted forms of payment: cash, personal check, and credit card (Master Card, Visa, Discover, American Express).  Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged the full amount.

 

Driving Lessons

In addition to offering lessons on horseback, Bennett Farms offers driving lessons too!  Driving is a great activity for those looking to work with horses in a low-impact method.  Our thirty minute lessons are conducted on an individual basis so that each rider receives instruction specific to their level and needs.  If you're interested in competing in driving shows, or simply learning for the fun of it, we have experienced instructors who teach driving for pleasure and for show competition.

Please note the images above show professional riders.  All students will be required to wear the appropriate safety gear.

Includes instruction, lesson horse, training jog cart, wagon, or carriage, and (applicable) safety gear

Accepted forms of payment: cash, personal check, and credit card (Master Card, Visa, Discover, American Express).  Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged the full amount.

 

Specialty Lessons

Group Lessons
 

Riding together can be a great experience! Available upon special request, our trainers can easily accommodate group lessons if you and a friend are interested in learning at the same time.

 

Recommended for: Intermediate riders.  For safety of supervision reasons, we would recommend only intermediate and above riders take group lessons.  

 

What will you learn? Both Western and Saddle Seat disciplines can be taught in group lesson format. Lessons will focus on basic horsemanship, and preparing and untacking your horse.

 

What is the cost?  Group lessons are 60 minutes

Horse Care Lessons

 

Now it's time to get up close and learn more about horses! Horse Care Lessons are a great way to broaden your equestrian knowledge and ask those questions you've always wanted to ask!

 

Perfect for: Anyone! This is a great way for anyone to get familiar with horses, learn a lot about them, and get to know their different personalities! 

 

What will you learn? Students will learn about horse grooming, horse breeds, horse anatomy, barn safety practices, and horse health.  Bring your own questions and we'll do our best to answer them!

 

What is the cost? As these lessons are available only upon special request, the price can vary.  Call us today to schedule a lesson and receive a quote! 

 

Competitive Training

 

Ready to put your skills to the test? Competitive training consists of lessons specifically designed for horse show bound riders.  Lessons are available for both Western or Saddle Seat riders.

 

Perfect for: All riders looking to get involved in show competitions, and show-experienced riders looking to isolate and improve on specific show techniques.

 

What will you learn? Competitive riders will learn all about the world of horse shows! We put a lot into the rider-specific competitive training program, so check out more about it on it's very own page!

 

Safety

 

While Bennett Farms wants all of our riders to have fun and grow in their equestrian skills, our first thought is always for our students' safety.  All Bennett Farms students must wear the appropriate safety gear during each lesson, and will be taught basic barn safety.
